If you had asked me when we started this business, whether we would ever share our sewing patterns and techniques with our audience, I would have said: "Nah, we're just a clothing brand." Flash forward to today, and our book, Reclaimed Quilts, Sew Modern Clothing & Accessories from Vintage Textiles is about to hit shelves worldwide.
When we were approached almost two years ago by C&T publishing about creating a book about upcycling vintage textiles, I was honored, excited, and completely naive about what we were getting ourselves into. As you can probably guess, our answer was "YES!" and the crazy journey into what it takes to write and publish a book began from there.
From beginning to envision exactly what we wanted our book to be about, to the actual writing of it; to documenting every detail of each instructional step, and planning, organizing, and shooting the most involved photoshoot we've ever set up, we learned a LOT! There were moments of extreme excitement and fun, and many, many moments where I thought "we can't do this." But here we are: It's June and the book ready, and the sense of pride we feel in what we have accomplished and what we are ready to share with you is impossible to put into words.
