In 1916, Adeline Van Buren became the first woman to drive her motorcycle across the country with her sister Augusta. Her story is the inspiration behind our Quilted Biker Jacket. Made from 27 quilt pieces, 5 zippers and 20 snaps, these intricate and structured jackets are the definition of wearable art. Featuring zippered front pockets, lapels that snap to the body of the jacket, epaulet tabs at the shoulders, and snapped tabs at the back of the waistband for an adjustable fit, the Adeline Jackets are a labor of love, from us to you.
About the Jacket: This Jacket is made from a Lonestar Quilt that we estimate to have been made in the early 1900's. The dark bluish-grey indigo pieces were naturally dyed, and some of that dye has bled some onto the pink and yellow fabrics. The Quilt itself is soft, plush, and in excellent condition. The inside of the jacket boasts a beautiful tan fabric with thin black and red stripes.
